This message reminded us that worship is much more than attending a church service or singing songs. Jesus taught the Samaritan woman that true worship is not centered on a location, but on a relationship with God through worshiping “in spirit and truth.” Throughout Scripture, from Adam and Abraham to Moses, David, and ultimately Jesus Christ, God has revealed Himself as worthy of our worship. We were created to worship, and our worship becomes acceptable when it is grounded in truth, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and reflected in lives of holiness and sacrifice. As Romans 12:1 teaches, worship involves offering ourselves as living sacrifices to God each day. The message challenged us to examine whether we are worshiping the Creator or allowing other things to take His place, and to remember that God is seeking people whose hearts are fully surrendered to Him.
